Bob Collymore breaks silence with new message to his son

His son graduated today with a first class degree

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore on Friday broke a lengthy silence after he took to Twitter to celebrate his son who graduated with a first class honours degree in Music.

Collymore, who is out of the country on medical leave, for the first time introduced his son and expressed pride in the young man's achievement.

"Guess whose son just received his 1st Class Honours degree in music from Martha Lane-Fox at a graduation ceremony at London's Barbican. ," Collymore stated.

The Safaricom boss has kept a low profile since October when the telecommunications giant announced that he would be away for "several months" to seek treatment.

In December, he tweeted an update saying he was doing well - a messages that prompted numerous messages of good will.

In 2016, the sixty-year old executive married Wambui Kamiru at a private ceremony in Nairobi.
