National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has finally disclosed events that will take place after his controversial swearing-in scheduled for January 30, 2018.

Speaking during an interview with Voice of America, Mr. Odinga said that after the ceremony he will embark on forming a Cabinet just like any other Government.

He insisted that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Government was illegitimate hence the Opposition will form a parallel one.

“An illegitimate government is in power. The true government, the one Kenyans voted for, is outside. We will work just like any other government. We will form a cabinet,” he said.

Exile

The Former Prime Minister highlighted that if it becomes hard to rule inside the country then NASA will do so while in exile.

“We can even be a government in exile — one that runs from outside the country. It has happened in other countries. But what we say is that Kenyans will no longer be party to a rule by an illegitimate government, one that was not voted for by the majority,” he noted.

The NASA leader dismissed threats issued by Attorney General Githu Muigai that he risks being charged with treason if he proceeds with the swearing-in.

Sovereignty

Speaking to VOA, he stated: “I told Prof Muigai to go and tell that to the birds! Sovereignty is vested in the people, and can be exercised directly or through elected representatives. Kenyans have taken back their sovereignty because we have a situation of an illegal government”.

He noted that NASA was ready to have a dialogue with Jubilee but insisted they will not beg for it.

“Nasa has come up with a five-point agenda. We are waiting for Jubilee to put to the table its agenda. If Jubilee does not, we will not force them. We will go on with our plans, and they can go on with theirs, and then we will see where we meet,” he said.

This comes a day after Siaya Senator James Orengo revealed the one challenge NASA is facing ahead of Odinga's swearing-in.
