The late Laikipia Senator Godfrey Gitahi Kariuki will be laid to rest on July 14 at his home in Rumuruti Laikipia County.
As Kenyans await his burial, some little unknown secrets have been revealed stating that the late senator never tested alcohol in his entire life.
According to the Wife of the late GG Kariuki the politician always dismissed anyone who came around him while drunk.
“He never tasted alcohol and dismissed anyone who was a drunk. He loved traditional foods and that is what he ate until his death,” she said.

On the other, his leadership style as well as his dislike for corruption and alcohol won him quite a number of enemies. Before GG plunged into politics as Laikipia MP in 1963 aged only 29, he worked as a cook for a white settler. He would then fall in love with politics and, in an interview with The Standard, even compared it to religion.
The senator was a green belt holder and a former chairman of Kenya Taekwondo Association. But what many did not know is that he was also an entrepreneur and a farmer.
He was also ranked among the richest people in the country.
