Man arrested after commanding police to shoot in the air

He was arraigned in court and charged with creating disturbance in manner to cause breach of peace.

In a strange story, a 27-year-old man has been arrested and arraigned in court after he allegedly commanded revelers at a pub, among them police officers, to shoot in the air seven times.

Charles Ndeu Mihigo and others not before the court went to a bar along Juja road and ordered for drinks.

He then left to go to the washroom but on returning he found his drink had not been served as ordered.

He is then alleged to have beaten up the bar owner Kennedy Rotich and commanded other revelers to lie down. The suspect, mimicking a police officer then allegedly ordered them to shoot in the air seven times.

Unbeknown to him, the complainant’s son who is said to be cop had checked in at the bar in the company of colleagues.

Cash bail

He was swiftly arrested while his friends managed to escape. Mihingo was arraigned in court and accused of creating disturbance in manner to cause breach of peace.

He, however, denied commanding the revelers to act like police officers and was released on Sh10, 000 cash bail.

The case will be heard on 30th July.
