Lee and her mother, Tina Ring, 53, then activated the store’s security system, trying to trap Lee between two sets of doors.

However, this backfired when the inner door would not close quickly enough, but the outside door locked, which prevented the thief from leaving.

The thief was still able to return to the store. The two women quickly armed themselves with small handguns that were hidden under the register.

The armed robber pointed his weapon at the women so they opened fire. The armed robber tried wrestling the gun away from Ring, forcing her daughter to open fire again to save her mother.

Serial criminal

Lee eventually managed to stumble out of the store and went to a hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma for some time as he was being treated.

He has since been arrested and his mugshot shows him in a neck brace with bandages on his face.

Lee is being held on $1 million bond as police believe he may have been involved in other armed robberies over the past 3 months.
