Mourners in Ruaraka forced to flee after being attacked by drunk man

The drunk man started hurling stones at the mourners who were forced to flee

A drunk man caused pandemonium when he attacked mourners who had gathered to mourn the passing of their friend at plot in Ruaraka area.

Police stated that the mourners who were holding a vigil were accosted by Kelvin Onyango who was drunk when he stormed the plot around 10pm and ordered them to leave.

The inebriated Onyango is said to have started hurling stones at the crowd shouting that he wanted to sleep while the mourners were making noise and listening to sombre music.

To escape the impending fracas the mourners fled in droves and left the casket behind as the suspect continued to hurl stones at the premises.

The matter was reported to the police who arrived and found the accused. He did not touch the casket.

He was arraigned in court to face the charges that he has since denied. He was set free on Sh 5000 cash bail pending hearing on 18th April 18th.

Angry mourners dumped a casket with a body in a supermarket in Voi town, Taita-Taveta County.

The management of the supermarket and its customers were caught unawares as the mourners from Sagala location took the body inside and opened it and started wailing to the amazement of many.

The deceased Amos Mwambanga and his unidentified colleague were herders who died in controversial circumstances.

Oath

They had been forced to undertake an illegal oath at Msherinyi village near Maungu Township along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway last week after being accused of stealing four goats belonging to the supermarket operators in the town.

Police preliminary investigations indicated that all the people present took the witch doctor’s brew who was hired from Tanzania to administer the oath to identify culprits who had stolen goats
