President Uhuru Kenyatta has moved with speed to stop a project that would have seen part of the Indian Ocean grabbed by a private developer.
President Kenyatta on Monday evening directed the lands commission to revoke Kibarani land allocation.
However, the The Water Resource Management Authority (WARMA) raised the red flag on the project after two private developers were found to have built a sea wall that was encroaching on ocean land.
Members of the National Assembly Environment Committee on Monday morning warned NEMA and other relevant officials against allowing further development in the area.
The head of state also promised that the national government would assist a city regeneration project in Mombasa.
