Mombasa governor-elect Ali Hassan Joho has finally received his certificate from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Joho had on Friday night alleged that the electoral body had denied to give him his certificate.
The governor-elect had stormed into the Mombasa Tallying Centre Bandari college claiming that the returning offcer had refused to give him his certificate.
IEBC however refuted the claims that they had refused to issue the governor-elect with a certificate but attributed the delay to the fact that "paperwork took too long".
Joho was re-elected into office after garnering 220, 576 votes againsta Jubilee's Suleiman Shabhal's 69,322 votes while Wiper's Hassan Omar got 43,672 votes.
He received his certificate on Saturday August 12, alongside all elected Mombasa MPs.
