Celebrated journalist Jeff Koinange is in mourning after he lost his grandmother.
Elizabeth Gathoni Koinange passed on at the age of 117. She was the only surviving widow of Senior Chief Koinange’s six wives.
The media personality took to his social media accounts where he gave a tribute to his grandmother.
“Folks, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of one of my GREATEST Shujaas Go well grandma..You OUTLIVED many and at 117, you were a true PATRIOT and a MATRIARCH to all. Rest with the Angels & we shall see you when we get there,” Jeff stated.
Despite his advanced age, Gathoni was reported to have maintained a sharp memory and was able to identity her lineage down six generations.
The Koinange family is one of the most politically significant families which has produced respected professionals in various fields.
