Dr. Pimple Popper is back on Instagram with another of her gross but accurate food comparisons. In one of her latest videos, Dr. Pimple Popper aka dermatologist and TLC's Dr. Sandra Lee is tasked with removing a pilar cyst from her patient's scalp. A pilar cyst is a collection of keratin that forms around a hair follicle forming a fleshy cyst. These growths are typically benign and not harmful, but if you want them removed, Dr. Lee is at your service.
To get rid of her patient's growth, Dr. Lee creates an incision over the top of the bump, but unlike other removals, there's little skin on her patient's scalp to use as a means of pushing out the contents. Instead, she asks the patient to push back against her hands. Slowly, the growth begins to come free, but it can't make it all at once.
Dr. Lee grabs a pair of tweezers and begins prying out bits of the cyst , freeing the gunk bit by bit. Eventually, she's able to begin the process of popping by having her patient push back against her hands again. The white build-up comes out with the dermatologist declaring that it looks just like 'candy corn.'
