We already knew that the sociable serial killer Ed Kemper, one of the standout parts of Netflix's Mindhunter, was based on an actual convicted serial killer. But how accurate, exactly, was the show's depiction? Kemperplayed by actor Cameron Brittonis the first and most prominent murderer that the show's protagonists, Holden Ford and Bill Tench, speak with in the series.

Well, a YouTube video takes footage of the real Ed Kemperall creepy, incarcerated, 6-foot-9 of himand intercuts it alongside Britton's portrayal in the first season of Mindhunter. We knew that the actor's portrayal was a good onehe was nominated for an Emmy last year, after allbut the video really puts things in perspective. Both Britton and the series' writing prove to be spot-on, almost identical in dialogue and tone to the real footage.

The video is edited in a compelling mannersometimes, clips of the real Kemper come right before the footage of Mindhunter's Kemper, and sometimes vice versa. But the words he says are almost always exactly the same. Sometimes, the video even plays Britton as Kemper, and real Kemper, at the same time.

As chilling as it was to watch Britton's Kemper speak so calmly about the murders he committed on-screen in Mindhunter, it's even more jarring to see footage of the guy who actually did these things (Kemper is believed to have murdered 10 people, including his mother and grandparents).
