Look at this pretty pearl. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD pops a pearl-like milia on a patients forehead. And Dr. Lee says this growth is one in a milia due to its fairly sizable girth. We all love a good pun and pop, now don't we?
In the quick clip, Dr. Lee nicks the skin to reach the hidden growth. The famed derm then pushes down with a comedone extractor, popping out a plump, firm milia.
Thats a big milia! Dr. Lee exclaims when the round growth emerges. The pearl-like growth is so big for a milia that Dr. Lee suspected it could actually be a cyst prior to getting under the patients skin.
Slipped right out, one fan commented on the video. Its true. This was an easy one.
Milia are tiny, dome-shaped bumps on the skin that contain dead skin cells trapped in small pockets near the skins surface. In some cases, milia are actually nicknamed baby acne or Epstein pearls" due to their appearance.
