Trust is an important element for a healthy relationship.

If lost, it can culminate into issues such as cheating and according to London based performance coach Dr. Amy Iverson, there are six major signs that show your husband is ready to have an affair.

She revealed to Femail six questions every woman should ask themselves if they are worried that their partner may be cheating on them.

1.What does his upbringing reveal?

According to Dr. Iverson, men from broken families with a history of infidelity are more likely to cheat so if he comes off as abusive, strict or has a troubled family background then they are more likely to stray from the marriage.

2.What does his previous behavior tell you?

If he has a history of cheating or is addicted to porn or sexting then he is more likely cheat.

His reactions to people around him that may have cheated on their spouses could also determine whether he will cheat or not.

3.What’s going on in his life right now?

If your husband is going through a particular transition in his life such as losing his job, retiring, getting a promotion can affect a man’s self-confidence and determine whether he will cheat or not.

Apparently even death could make the idea of cheating appealing to a man.

4.Are there any behavioral changes?

Behavioral changes are also a major sign to note when suspecting that your spouse is cheating. Maybe he is spending more time on his appearance or making secret calls.

It has to be a dramatic change in his behavior however.

5.Is your relationship different?

Ask yourself: Do I feel like something is different or clouded in this relationship?

Is your husband more irritated or critical? He may be guarded or just moody.

Is your sex life affected?

6.What’s changed in your life?

Dr. Iverson suggests that changes in your own personal life may push him to stray. While this shouldn’t justify his actions, it might contribute to him wanting to cheat.

They may feel neglected or unloved and that would make him want to feel special somewhere else.
