Getting your heart broken sucks.
One moment you are crying your eyes out and the next minute you feel like you are definitely over that person and are ready to move on then something reminds you of your relationship and all of a sudden you feel like the world is against you.
Aside from the emotional side effects of a heart break, your body also responds to heart break. This is what happens to your body when you go through a heart break.
1.You experience physical pain
When someone says that their heart break hurts, they’re not just being metaphorical. Your stomach starts churning and you just generally experience sick like symptoms.
Assistant professor of psychology at the University of California at Los Angeles Naomi Eisenbuerger told Women’s Health Magazine that “the area of your brain that lights up when you’re hurt physically is the same area that lights up when you suffer ‘social rejection’”.
2.Irregular periods
You’re more likely to get stressed when you go through a heart break which can cause changes in your hormone levels.
Hormonal changes could lead to you having an irregular menstrual cycle.
3.Change in appetite
In extreme cases, a loss of appetite or increased appetite can occur when you’re going through a break up.
This could stem from the stress that you can experience after a break up.
4.You could lose your hair
Hair loss is another unfortunate heart break experience. This is mainly brought about by stress.
