Amy Schumer will forever be the internet's relatable fave. This morning, the comedian posted a #TBT Instagram of the moment she found out she was pregnant with her baby, Gene...and she looks like any other new mom-to-be receiving the big news.
In the photo, she's sitting on a toilet, not wearing any makeup and with her panties are around her ankle boots. (It's a ~lewk~.) Amy looks stunned, and the pregnancy test in question sits on pal Jessica Seinfeld's bathroom sink. (Jessica Seinfeld took the photo because Amy was at her house when it happened.) There's also a small, equally-stunned dog at her feet.
The pic is straight-up hilarious because Amy Schumer. Both fans and fellow celebs have commented on the post, many opting for nothing but crying-while-laughing emojis. Jessica Seinfeld also kept the laughs going with her comment: "And why Gene is actually MY son." Meanwhile, one fan wrote that the photo "must be framed ," and another said, "Perfect portrait of a mom-to-be!!! ."
Of course, this isn't the first time Amy has gotten hilariously real about being preggersshe had a whole Netflix comedy special about it, after all.
Plus, throughout her pregnancy and since giving birth, Amy has been vocal on social media about the less glamorous aspects of motherhood, like suffering from hypermesis gravidarum , a condition characterized by extreme vomiting. She's also spoken out about her husband's autism spectrum disorder diagnosis , and the possibility that her son will have the condition.
"I don't see being on the spectrum as a negative thing," she wrote on Instagram. "My husband is my favorite person I've ever met. He's kind, hilarious, interesting and talented and I admire him. Am I supposed to hope my son isn't like that? I will pay attention and try and provide him with the tools he needs to overcome whatever challenges come up like all parents. I'd be disappointed if he liked the Big Bang Theory and Nascar not if he has ASD."
Other celebrity moms have taken notice of Amy's candor, too. When Amy posted about losing 10 pounds post-baby on Instagram, Jessica Simpson (who had just lost 100 pounds ) cheered her on, and said, "Youre hot. Size only matters when it comes to men ."
