Mudavadi given 24-Hour ultimatum

This is the first time for Mudavadi to find himself on a receiving end after the elections.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was on Thursday given 24-hour-ultimatum by a section of Jubilee MPs to apologise over the scuffle which involved Water and Irrigation CS Eugene Wamalwa.

Mr Wamalwa was on Boxing Day (Tuesday) heckled forcing him to leave the venue of the Maragoli cultural festival at Municipal Grounds in Mbale.

A section of angry youth started chanting "aende" as they pelted stones at Mr Wamalwa disrupting the whole event.

“It is unfortunate Eugene came to an occasion uninvited with sole purpose of disrupting it,” Mr Mudavadi said a day after christmas.

Khalif Kairo and his former business partner Clement Kinuthia are locked in a heated exchange of accusations, with Kairo now alleging that Clement not only cheated on his wife but also had an affair with his (Kairo’s) girlfriend. The car dealer also revealed that he is currently single, but will introduce a new lady once he resolves the issues surrounding his business.

While things turned turned ugly for the CS, Mudavadi was having it good as MPs from Kakamega started campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid.

The water CS left barely five minutes after he had arrived at the well-attended annual event that was being marked for the 38th time.

Mr Mudavadi and Mr Atwoli were forced to escort the minister out of the venue as police shot leading to a stampede. Things settled after the CS left.

Efforts by Mr Mudavadi and Mr Atwoli to calm down the mobs were futile as the chanting grew louder.

Earlier, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria accused Mudavadi of plotting malice against Mr Wamalwa.

"So you Musalia Mudavadi organised goons to evict Eugene Wamalwa from the Mbale Maragoli Cultural event. So other than showing your Resist credentials to Raila as you contend to succeed him, what have you gained? What do you have to show to your people despite being appointed a Cabinet Minister at the age of 29. You fall for anything.

Now you think Raila will handover the Nyanza-Western block to you? You are asleep my brother. Same way you believed sheepishly that Kibaki would hand over to you. Stop trying to Luonize (Correct Spelling Lionize) the Maragolis. They are a peaceful people. Eugene is still a CS. Utado?" Mr Kuria posed.
