Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has denied reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta had called for a stop to the La Mada Hotel meetings.

The Nation quoted CS Munya who claimed the meetings had intensified and even devolved to counties.

Munya termed the allegations of President Kenyatta banning the meetings as lies and fabrication of the truth.

"In fact, we were to meet yesterday (Wednesday) but we had other engagements. We are to meet again next week," Munya said.

According to the Trade CS, issues of development to counties and sub-counties have taken centre stage.

Claims of assassination

Mr Munya who chairs a team whose other members include CSs Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health), James Macharia (Transport) and a number of principal secretaries and parastatal chiefs said they were now also involving counties and sub-counties leaders on enhancing growth in Mt Kenya region.

The Trade CS said the DCI was yet to update them on the progress of the probe where they were accused of plotting to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
