Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has been arrested.
Mr. Kidero was apprehended by Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) detectives who raided house at 6 am on Thursday.
The detectives combed Kidero’s Muthaiga home for cash and documents relating to a graft case against the former city boss.
This is the second time EACC officers are arresting Mr. Kidero in less arrest in less than 2 months.
Speaking to journalist Mr. Kidero dismissed the charges filed against him noting that there was no basis.
“EACC came with a search warrant into my house. It appeared to me they were looking for evidence because they did not have any during the first arrest.
“They should have had enough evidence before arresting me. This is pure harassment and a violation to my right. We will not take this laying down,” Kidero said.
After searching Kidero’s house in Muthaiga, the detectives proceeded to his office located at Riverside to continue with the search.
The former Governor is currently being grilled at EACC offices.
