Four family members have been burnt beyond recognition in a Monday night fire in Likoni, Mombasa County, area Deputy County Commissioner Erick Wamulevu has confirmed.
The four, among them two children, were burnt to death in a fire whose cause is still unknown at their rental house in Ijara, near Shelly Beach.

The situation worsened after attempts by fire fighters were overpowered, their water tanks ran dry, causing massive destruction.

Confirming the incident, Mr Wamulevu said that the couple which has since died with tits two children, were in a heated quarrel before the fire broke out, and is not clear if it was arson.
