Nyeri Deputy Governor Mutahi Kahiga will now not be sworn in as the County’s new Governor on Thursday

This follows advice from Kenya Governors who urged the county to halt the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Kahiga’s who was to be officially declared the fourth Governor of Nyeri will have to wait until further notice.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who is also the chairman of the council of Governors chaired the meeting calling for the postponement.

This comes after the death of Governor Wahome Gakuru who was killed in a grisly accident at Kabati near Kenol along the Thika- Murang'a road.
