President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have shared a warm and inspiring Christmas message, calling on Kenyans to embrace unity, gratitude, and generosity during the festive season.

“This Christmas, I invite you to take a moment to honour the millions of men and women whose service is shaping our national transformation. Thanks to their hard work and determination, we are building a stronger, more united, secure, and prosperous Kenya,” he said.
Highlighting the sacrifices of health workers, the President called them “guardians of our wellbeing,” while acknowledging the vital role of construction workers in building homes and a future of dignity for Kenyan families.
He also urged Kenyans to take part in the country’s tree-planting initiatives, describing the act as “a symbol of hope” for future generations.
First Lady Rachel Ruto brought a personal touch to the message, reflecting on her experience as a teacher.
She emphasised the need to tackle hunger to ensure children can focus on learning.

As someone who has been a teacher, I know how hard it is to teach a hungry child. Our mission is to make sure hunger doesn’t stand in the way of education. A plate of food is power in a child’s hands.
She encouraged families to start kitchen gardens, not only to grow fresh, healthy food but also as a way to strengthen family bonds during the festive season.
The First Lady also reminded Kenyans of the deeper meaning of Christmas, gratitude, love, and giving.
This is a season to rediscover the power of selfless love. Let it guide us as we raise our families, serve our communities, and build our nation.
The couple urged Kenyans to take simple yet meaningful steps to spread joy and make a difference.

“This Christmas, let us remember that together, we are unstoppable. Acts of kindness, unity, and compassion are the greatest gifts we can give each other,” the President added.
In their joint closing statement, they wished all Kenyans a joyful holiday and a happy, prosperous New Year 2025.
