Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen endured the wrath of Kenyans on Twitter who were not impressed with his comments on handshake deal and fight against corruption.

The senator ignited the onslaught after he stated that the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga is a political fraud that is being used to fight an individual.

Murkomen took to Twitter writing: HANDSHAKE is the worst political fraud ever witnessed in this country. It’s being used as a scheme to fight one individual together with the charade called fight against corruption. It’s a SHAME!

Netizens claimed that the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator was acting like a suspect especially at a time when the nation is coming to terms with reports of at least Sh. 21 billion lost in the dams scandal.

@JMireri wrote that “We can see what tangatanga is upto... Risk it all, and go separate ways with @UKenyatta . @RailaOdinga is the perfect bogeyman”.

His statement came on the same day that President Kenyatta and the opposition chief were feted during the first year’s anniversary of the handshake deal that lowered political temperatures.
