Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has finally opened up about joining Jubilee..
Speculations had been rife that Ruto was planning to ditch NASA and join Jubilee especially after the embarrassing defeat by Joyce Laboso. However, speaking in an interview on Monday, Ruto dismissed the claims and affirmed that he was in NASA to stay adding that he would not join Jubilee.
"I am in NASA to stay. I have decided to maintain a low profile to allow Bomet people to settle. "I know the election was marred with a lot of irregularities since government machinery were used to intimidate my supporters," the ex-bomet governor was quoted by the Standard. During the NASA presser at Capitol Hill on Monday, Musalia Mudavadi was compelled to answer of his whereabouts.“I would like to assure you that we are in touch with Governor Isaac Ruto. He has assured us that he is firmly on board and we have apologies for him. We have no doubt that he is firmly with us but he is handling a few issues," Mudavadi stated.
During the swearing in ceremony of Joyce Laboso in Bomet County, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was in attendance, requested Ruto to go back to Jubilee.
"You have shown that you are a true man. I want to ask you to come back. You don’t have to stay with that man of riddles,” Kenyatta told Ruto.
The former governor never responded when he took to the podium but announced he would not challenges Laboso's win in court.
