Many people wonder why there is need to celebrate women with days such as International Women’s Day being set aside for this sole purpose.

Women have and will continue to be an integral part of our society’s growth and development. They have become movers and shakers of society based on some of their outstanding deeds in a world dominated by men.

They have been given different names because of the contributions they've made and continue to champion for in society; Change makers, back bones of the society, and home builders is just a tip of the iceberg.

This makes it important for all of us to celebrate achievements from women and to encourage young girls who are growing to reach their set goals.

This year, Zuri Awards will recognize more women doing noble things in their different communities in line with celebrations of International Women’s Day.

The awards ceremony has increased nomination slots from 4 to 15 in a bid to recognize more exceptional women and organizations in a Dinner Gala that will take place on March 7^thVilla Rosa Kempinski.

According to the organizer, the consistent growth of Zuri Awards has made it possible for them to increase the nomination slots to showcase more change making women.

“This will be a game changer and will inspire other women to work extra hard, be innovative and creative in their respective fields,” said Go Gaga Experiential Director, Muthoni Mumo.

Buya Mukonzo, Fatuma Abdikadir, Dr. Chao Mbogo, Caroline Wanjiku and Umulkheir Mohammed have previously been recognized for their outstanding work.
