Mercy is a two-time world junior champion in 2008 and 2010. She scooped gold medals at the Commonwealth wealth youth Games 2008. She has also been a success junior athlete in cross country games taking the silver medals in the junior team and individual competitions at World Cross Country Championship.

The talented girl from Bomet grew to fame when she won gold in the 2014 commonwealth games in the Glasgow.
