British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Journalist Maureen Nyukuri got married to the love of her life Collins Owiti in an exquisite affair that was graced by family members and close friends over the weekend.

The news of their wedding was made public by NTV’s DJ Mo and Grace Ekirapa who were among guests invited to witness the two love birds exchange vows.

An excited Ms Nyukuri also took to social media to inform her followers that she was officially off the market.

“And today I say I do to the love of my life. #offmarket #lovewins #30thmarch2019,” wrote Maureen Nyukuri.

A few days to the wedding, the former NTV producer had been treated to a surprise Bridal shower by her close friends.

Bridal shower

“I’m sending all of my gratitude to you for planning and hosting my bridal shower. It was a beautiful day that Owiti CJ and I will never forget and it will definitely reflect on for the rest of our lives. Thank you too for the wonderful, thoughtful, beautiful gifts. It was beyond what I could fathom. You took care of all the details and covered all the angles. Nashukuru Sana. Above all, I swallow my words - I was thoroughly surprised,”shared Ms Nyukuri.

Before joining BBC, Ms Nyukuri used to worker at Nation Media Group owned station NTV as a producer for a period of 5 years. She exited the station on July 19th, 2018 to start a new career at BBC Africa.

“It's definitely a bitter sweet moment for me as I announce my exit from Nation Media Group. NTV Kenya has been my home for the past 5 years. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented people and to be part of such a close knit family. I had the opportunity to travel to each part of this country and beyond. I cannot take that kind of exposure for granted. NMG is truly a great company and it will always have a special place in my heart. To all my colleagues, thank you for the amazing farewell and of course the sweet cake. I will miss y'all” wrote Maureen Nyukuri.
