“Jeff Koinange is like that hot chic!” former CNN reporter gets a resounding welcome on Citizen TV

In mid-November last year, Jeff Koinange Live went out with a bad bang after Nairobi gubernatorial aspirants Miguna Miguna and Esther Passaris, tore into each other.

Jeff Koinange

It all started with Esther claiming that Miguna was a backstabber who turned on Raila and without Raila, Miguna was nothing. Miguna on the other had retaliated with calling her a 'flower girl' and 'socialite bimbo'.

But what pissed people off was a rape comment that Miguna made “Nobody wants you…Nobody wants you Esther! Everyone wants to rape Esther! Everyone wants to rape Esther!”

And expected, Kenyans and especially feminists had a field day going in on Miguna following his disparaging comments on Esther Passaris.

Jeff on the other hand was accused of sitting back as his guests traded insults and trivialised rape.

After the backlash, Miguna went on social media to claim that the rape comment was taken out of context before saying that Esther poked him first by claiming he raped someone off air.

“…During the debate, I clearly stated to Jeff Koinange that I didn’t want to attack Passaris but both Jeff and Passaris insisted on the line of questioning and direction the “debate” took.

I have tremendous respect for women. But I don’t respect hypocrites and opportunists who use their gender to seek or obtain advantages that they don’t deserve.

Trying to cheaply play the “woman card” will not work for Esther Passaris, nor will it work for the cartels.

Esther Passaris doesn’t represent the interests of women. She represents only the selfish interests of Esther Passaris.” He posted.

3 months after this incidence that lost Jeff Koinange his job due to the backlash over his lack of control on the interview, Jeff has recovered and launched his show on Citizen TV.

Jeff Koinange Live made its debut at Citizen yesterday and it was clearly a hit judging from the comments on social media.
