Mike Okinyi bares his teeth after scathing attack

Ni moto ya kuotea mbali...

In the WP Patrick Gathara, a strategic communications consultant writes “…The media has, with the sole exception of the Star, been determined to avoid any mention of the tension and the protests, which are small but seem to be spreading. Instead, it is currently regaling the country with colourful stories of the ‘Githeri Man,’ Kenya’s new Internet sensation… Rather than preaching peace, the Kenyan media is earning its 30 pieces of silver by ignoring or editing out citizen frustrations in order to maintain a facade of normality.”

Gathara’s sentiments have been echoed by many Kenyans who feel that the media has developed a nonchalant attitude toward victims of violence in areas like Kibera and Kisumu. Others feel like the media is biased in their reporting and has been bought by political parties.

Now frustrated Kenyans have come out in hordes to call out journalists over the situation and one of them is Mike Okinyi from Citizen TV.
