Diamond behind bars?

The Bongo star was jailed. This is after a video was shared by a Tanzanian media outlet where the Tanzanian Minister of Sports, arts and Entertainment Harrison G Mwakyembe was being questioned on whether action was taken after the ratchet video was shared.

The minister revealed that Diamond was arrested and interrogated concerning the matter and Nandy on the other hand was being looked for by the police.

Diamond's manager Babu Tale confirmed that indeed Diamond is behind bars. He spoke to e Daily disclosing that the pop star was summoned to Central Police Station in Dar es Salaam and he recorded a statement and arrested. Babu Tale said, "We hope he will be released soonest."

The police stated that the videos he shared the past Sunday violates the law.

Harrison while speaking to parliamentarians said that there are artists who practice hooliganism online and he said the law will catch up with them.

He further cautioned the youth. He directed to them that the Internet is not a place to air nasty things which the law prohibits adding that the country needs to preserve its cultural values for future generations.

Diamond through his Instagram status shared the nasty videos and within no time it literally broke the internet.

Many of his fans were angered and a section of others who are Zari’s fans felt betrayed and disgusted.

This is because the pop star captioned one of the videos ‘Ukiachwa achika’ and the jab was clearly directed to his ex-lover Zari Hassan.

Nandy who is currently being hunted for by Tanzanian police shocked online users after an obscene video of her and her ex emerged online.

It is still not clear how the video got to the internet. The Coke studio artist later apologized stating she wasn’t okay.

“I want to take this opportunity to ask for forgiveness from my family and fans for what happened.”
