It was a full house.

Some of the celebrities present at the event were Ben Githae, DJ Soxxy, Antony Ndiema, J Blessing, Kris Erroh, Shaniqua, Hon Mureithi, Frasha, Wahu and daughter Tumiso, Lady Bee, Eko Dydda, Mercy Masika, Kambua, Daddy Owen, Size 8, Shaffie Weru, Jaguar, Dj Sadic, Pambio Lives’ DJ Ruff, Timmy Tdat and Mwongolo among others.

Jalang’o was the MCee for the night while attendees were treated to performances by EMB records signees David Wonder and Mr Seed.

After giving a vote of thanks to those who attended, Bahati launched EMB’s latest signee Rebecca Soki who was compared to the late Angela Chibalonza.

Soki is the first female signee to the EMB label as Bahati has a passion for supporting women in a male-dominated industry.

“The Gospel industry is male-dominated and so I did some research to get a female signee and during my research, I came across one lady named Rebecca Soki. But I couldn’t reach her because this particular artiste was living in Kenya as a refugee and when you are a woman in a foreign country. it’s hard. She went through a few challenges here including getting poisoned and couldn’t sing for a year.

When I finally found her I learnt that she is in Congo, Goma and when I tried reaching her she told me she was in a war zone. We could talk one time and the next time she is mteja and she would say that the phone booster was bombed. I didn’t give up, I was passionate because this girl is a great singer." Bahati said.

However, getting Rebecca to come to Kenya after the poisoning incident was another matter altogether. “For the first time, I begged someone to come to Kenya. I’ve been working on getting Rebecca for the last 6 months, I brought her to Kenya from Congo in January. Since she had been through so much in Kenya I told her not to sing for the months she was here and we catered for everything. God gave me the grace and so we found Rebecca a house. Now she is back in the ministry, she is one of our sisters. He added.
