Ezekiel Mutua laments two day blackout after paying Sh50, 000 power Bill

Two days of blackout is enough

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Ezekiel Mutua has lamented a two day blackout after he paid a SH50, 000 electricity Bill last month.

Mutua in a post on Facebook said that the thought of paying such an amount of money alone was sickening.

He said that they have been pushing Kenya Power to restore power in his Lavington neighbourhood after a transformer blew up, but nothing has been done so far.

“A transformer blew up in my neighbourhood in Lavington yesterday and plunged us into darkness. We have been pushing KPLC to restore it since yesterday but up to now nothing has been done. Food is going bad in the fringes and there is no water,” read his post.

Khalif Kairo and his former business partner Clement Kinuthia are locked in a heated exchange of accusations, with Kairo now alleging that Clement not only cheated on his wife but also had an affair with his (Kairo’s) girlfriend. The car dealer also revealed that he is currently single, but will introduce a new lady once he resolves the issues surrounding his business.

The moral policeman then wondered what ordinary Kenyans would be going through as he questioned why such laziness should be in government.

“If a leafy suburb like Lavington can be in darkness for two days and KPLC doesn't give a damn, what does the common mwananchi go through? Why should we have this lethargy in Government? Why should we harass small mwananchi for simple mistakes when there are sacred cows in Government who operate with impunity? And to recall that I paid 50k for power bill last month for a family of five people is sickening. If there is an institution where impunity reigns supreme in this country it's Kenya Power.” said Ezekiel Mutua.
