Suspended Homeboyz Radio Presenter Didge has issued an apology following his insensitive comment on the murder of Moi University student Ivy Wangechi.

The Mtaani Homeboyz presenter has owned up to his mistake, stating that he is truly sorry to everyone who was offended by his insensitive remarks, promising to improve the quality of their show.

“It is with a sincere heart that I apologize to anyone who was offended by the remarks made on our show Mtaani yesterday (Tuesday the 9th of March) past 10pm. After careful revision of the said show, we made some remarks that were provocative and seemingly tasteless on a very sensitive subject matter, having said that, I am also deeply sorry to anyone who might have been hurt by these comments. As one of the lead presenters of the Mtaani show i take full responsibility and i'm totally remorseful for the specific statements. i would also like to apologize to our colleagues and the  (HBR) station as a whole. We as MTAANI apologize to our fans as well and the immediate public on this issue. We are definitely taking steps to make sure we improve on the quality of our content” reads an Apology from Didge.

On Wednesday, Homeboyz Radio Management issued an official statement suspending the presenter, describing his action as insensitive broadcasting and apologized.

The show dubbed 'Mtaani' was also removed from the schedule with the management saying they were conducting internal investigations.

"Mtaani is an important part of our schedule and provides our listeners with an opportunity to engage in real time on real issues. We are cognizant of our responsibilities as broadcasters which is why we are taking these measures," the statement said.

The Mtaani crew was put on the spot for sensationally claiming that Ivy died because she wasn't loyal.

Didge made puns about the heinous murder and laughed at his jokes.

"Ilibidi amChop. See what I did there guys?" the radio presenter asked.

“Ukidate dereva atakunyonga na seatbelt. Msee wa butchery atakuchinja (If you date a driver they will gag you with a seatbelt. If it's a butcher he will slay you,” he stated.
