Homeboyz Radio has suspended its presenter Didge over his insensitive remarks on the murder of Ivy Wangechi.

In a statement by Homeboyz radio, the bosses described the actions by the radio presenter as insensitive broadcasting and apologized.

The show dubbed 'Mtaani' was also removed from the schedule with Homeboyz saying they are conducting an internal investigation.

"Mtaani is an important part of our schedule and provides our listeners with an opportunity to engage in real time on real issues. We are cognizant of our responsibilities as broadcasters which is why we are taking these measures," the statement said.

Insensitive remarks

During the late night show, Didge and his co-host Ms Katiwa sensationally claimed that Ivy died because she wasn't loyal.

This was barely before police or family could confirm why the Sixth Year Bachelor of Medicine student at Moi University, was killed by Naftali Njahi Kinuthia.

Didge made puns about the heinous murder and laughed at his jokes.

"Ilibidi amChop. See what I did there guys?" the radio presenter asked.

Ukidate dereva atakunyonga na seatbelt. Msee wa butchery atakuchinja (If you date a driver they will gag you with a seatbelt. If it's a butcher he will slay you,” he stated.

Miss Katiwa was heard speculating that Ms Wangechi was killed for being “ungrateful”.

This was a woman who was fully being taken care of [by the man], but she wasn’t grateful. Instead, she opted to cheat on him. Maybe she was fulfilling the man’s sexual needs because he was supporting her, perhaps financially,” said Miss Katiwa.

Kenyans on social Twitter took to the platform to express their disappointment at the radio host’s remarks, demanding immediate action against the presenter.
