Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has divulged details of how she met her fiancé Joseph Irungu

In a new statement recorded with the detectives, the mother of one said that she first met Jowie in mid-2017 at the Bomas of Kenya, where Jubilee Party was having a function.

At the time, Mr. Irungu worked as a VIP security personnel for former Taita Taveta Woman Representative Joyce Lay.

In a report by Nation, Maribe said that they later on met at another Jubilee Party function that was held at Kasarani and Joseph Irungu was at the time staying in Buru Buru phase III with two friends.

According to Ms. Maribe, apart from his VIP security job, her fiancé also worked for a private military firm in Dubai.

The TV journalist’s new statement contradicts an earlier statement where she claimed to have met Jowie at a popular Nairobi night club, in January 2018.

Appeared in Court

This comes a day after Maribe and Jowie appeared in Court on Monday, where they both took a plea and were directed by Justice Jessie Lesiit to appear before a different Court in the Criminal Division on Wednesday, for their bail application hearing.

Jacque and Jowie are suspects in the murder of business woman Monica Kimani, who was found murdered with her throat slit at her apartment in Kilimani.
