Gospel singer Jimmy Gait is back in the country after spending almost a month in India. An update on his YouTube page indicates that he touched down on Sunday, expressing gratitude to all who stood with him.

“Feels great to be back home! There's nothing like it, being where you belong, with the people you belong! And better still, feeling healthier! Nashukuru sana” wrote Jimmy Gait.

The Muhadhara maker flew to India on August 11, in the quest to seek proper treatment after going through a cancer scare.

Numerous medical tests

He mentioned that he was battling a rare condition and doctors in Kenya had advised that he undergoes specialized treatment in India.

“I have not been well, I have been battling a condition and gone to quite a number of hospitals and it has been decided that I have to go out of the country for special treatment and medical attention,” he said in a video.

After being subjected to numerous medical tests, Dr Sanjay Khanna who is a gastroenterologist at BLK Hospital concluded that the throat pain Jimmy was complaining about was a result of increased acid production in the stomach.

“We found the infection, we treated it, we are still treating it and luckily we are doing well with the treatment. This is my advice to doctors if a patient is not showing any progress maybe one time or two times, move according to the clinical judgment and do perform the tests which are required,” the doctor advised

While in India, the singer was visited by two legislators, Gladys Boss Shollei and Sabina Chege.

“Mheshimiwa Sabina Chege came to visit Kenyans who are ailing here in India. She has gathered some good information on why so many Kenyans are coming here and how the government can intervene to improve our Health sector. Wapi likes za Mheshimiwa!” wrote Jimmy Gait.
