Singer Jose Chameleon in trouble over Sh1.5 Million

Will she get her money back?

The singer has been sued by a South Africa-based music promoter who is seeking compensation of Sh1.5 million which is an equivalent of 53 million Ugandan currency.

In the case filed in a Ugandan High Court, Zaina Muwonge of Sezana Promotions, claims that in 2015, she entered into a gentleman’s agreement with Chameleon, who agreed to perform at a concert in South Africa.

According to court documents seen by the Daily Monitor, Muwonge claims she paid Sh430, 000 to Chameleon and added another Sh29, 000 for the singer and his crew to apply for emergency passports at the singer’s request.

The court documents indicate that pursuant to the agreement and in fulfillment of her contractual obligation, she paid more than Sh315, 000 for purposes of transporting the Chameleon and his crew to South Africa.

Through her lawyers, Muwonge is seeking to recover her money and orders compelling Chameleon to pay her damages for breach of contract, damaged reputation and property, including chairs and banners.

The allegation comes just days after the self-proclaimed doctor of East African music bought himself a new Bentley that costs a whopping 20.7 million shillings.
