New order issued in Joy Doreen Biira’s case

Joy Doreen's case was heard today...

Joy Doreen Biira

And when she went to the parking lot at Standard Group Headquarters, Mombasa Road she learnt that her Mercedes Benz E 220 was missing. It was later recovered in Kondele Shopping Centre in Kisumu with its number plates changed from KBY 831K to KCH 117L.

The man behind the heist of the 2.8 million Mercedes-Benz was KTN's news editor Aaron Obudho Ochieng who now seems to have been relieved off his duties. (That is judging from an article on The Standard where they referred to him as an ex-editor).

He was arrested on December 31, 2016, and detained at Industrial Area police station before getting released on a million Kshs bond or a cash bail of 300, 000 Kshs.

The case was heard again today, July 4 where Ochieng was charged at the Milimani Law Courts with a count of handling stolen property. He apologised to Doreen before requesting the court to allow for an out-of-court settlement of the case. The judge then gave Joy and Ochieng a week to reach an agreement that will determine whether the case will be withdrawn and if they will have an out-of-court settlement. The case will be mentioned in court next Friday, July 7, 2017 as The Standard reports.
