Radio presenter charged with defiling form one girl

The girl unfortunately fell pregnant.

A 34-year-old Radio presenter by the name Muhiyadin Hassan was arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a teenager in Bula Iftin area on October 26, 2017.

As the Star reports, The Warsan FM presenter allegedly persuaded the trusting girl to join him in his house to ‘counsel’ her on why she should pursue journalism as a career only to force himself upon her.

The 17-year-old girl fell pregnant and the news came to light ahead of her admission to Thika Garrison secondary school.

Sources informed the paper that Muhiyadin tried settling the matter of out court by paying Kshs 80, 000 to one of the girl’s relatives but the mother refused, opting for justice for her daughter.

Once he was arraigned in court, the suspect denied the charges and was released on a bond of Kshs 200,000 ahead of the next hearing whose date is set for April 1, 2018.
