NTVâs Larry Madowo is under fire over a damning article he wrote against Dr. Fred Matiangi in his weekly Column published on Daily Nation.
This comes after the outspoken journalist accused the Interior CS of copying Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua in dominating the media with stories of âone achievement after anotherâ.
During an Intense Meeting on Wednesday Morning, the Sider Bar Host revealed that, Nation Media Chief Editor Tom Mshindi had informed him that his column in the Daily Nation newspaper would be discontinued after the story portrayed the No-nonsense CS in a bad way.
âWhat do Fred Matiangâi and Alfred Mutua have in common?â he wrote. âThey dominate media coverage and social media feeds with one âachievementâ after another as if they work miracles or have superpowers while their colleagues appear like lesser mortals incapable of getting anything right.â Wrote Larry Madowo in his Article published on January 9th.
The article goes on to read, âthe godlike status Matiangâi has acquired in Kenya means that there is almost no serious scrutiny of his actions by the masses. This is a man who presided over a brutal crackdown of constitutionally protected rights to protest during last yearâs two elections, yet any criticism of that shameful period is dismissed as partisan politics.
In the article, Madowo also stated that Matiangâi had told him in person that he will never be interviewed on NTV.
âDr Matiangâi has told me in person and at least another of my colleagues that he would never be interviewed by a reporter from NTV because he believes we are biased against him,â the TV anchor-cum-reporter stated.
