In June, the organizers created two editions (back-to-back)– Birthday Edition and a Destination Concert – both that were sponsored by Tusker Premium Ale; an ultra-premium beer by Kenya Breweries Limited.
Birthday Edition
The Birthday Edition was held at Kiza in honour of Capital FM Managing Director Somoina Kimojino, while the Destination Concert was held at Luxury Lantana Galu Hotel in Diani. Both events were invites only, which attracted Nairobi’s upper-middle class.
Bez Idakula performed most of his hit songs in the Super Sun Album, such as You Suppose Know, There’s a Fire and My Baby amongst others.
On the other hand, Sara Mitaru performed several unsung songs from her notebook, which contains over 70 songs with different melodies.
May Edition
In May the ASH Musical Show got the pleasure to host a number of notable figures among them Former Presidential Candidate Peter Kenneth, Capital FM Managing Director Somoina Kimonjino, KBL Head of Spirits AnnJoy Muhoro amongst others.
The jazzy night was made success by US Based artiste and writer Xelia Karungu, Emmy nominated Sara Mitaru and international guitarist Kelvin Munyi.
ASH Musical Show
ASH Musical Show is the first of its kind in Kenya, where songwriters come together. They follow a simple format where each artiste sings an angry song, a sad song and a happy song.
The event has been running successfully for over a year with monthly shows each with a different theme.
