Debora Mligimba the Singida police boss confirmed that the singer was arrested from her Ikungi home in Singida over 37, 000 Kshs.
According to the aggrieved party, Rose is said to have received the amount of money from the Chairman of AICT Singida Church choir, Mashala Japhet so that she could grace the AICT Church Choir album launch on 13 November 2016 at the Namfua Singida stadium.
But she did not show up even after getting an additional 6,900 Kshs as transport money to travel from Dodoma to Singida for the hyped up event. What’s worse, she did not refund the money and was allegedly spotted ministering at Kahama in northwestern Tanzania after pocketing the money.

But Rose has come out to distance herself from the scandal and blames the incident on a case of mistaken identity.
Speaking to E Daily, Rose confirmed the incident and said “Yes, the police arrested me on Sunday, June 4, but I wasn’t supposed to be their target. They were looking for another lady whose name is Rose, which is similar to mine. The other Rose is the one who obtained money from the said church in the pretense that she was me. I am currently at home after securing a release.”
