Kenyan singer Timmy T Dat has spoken after his dramatic arrest on Friday.

The singer in an interview with Citizen TV said that it was a case of mistaken identity and thanked his fans for supporting him.

“Mistaken identity it was,more blessings to the Kasabunians (fans)time to enjoy the freedom on tune in! ,” he said.

He went ahead and explained that he was coming from the gym with his car and that is when he made a wrong turn. The police then stopped him but he thought that they had stopped a car that was in front of him.

The singer added that the police then followed him and when he finally made a stop, the police men drove in front of him and blocked his way, they searched his car but found nothing then they took him into custody.

Timmy T Dat was later on released after a few hours.

The news of Timmy getting arrested made rounds on social media after someone posted a video of him getting harassed by two police officers on the roadside on Muthithi Road in Parklands, Nairobi.
