President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday took to the official presidential Twitter handle to announce he had voted for popular artist Nyashinski who has has been nominated for the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Nyashinski is set to battle it out with Nigeria’s Wizkid and Davido for the highly coveted Best African Act award.
"I just voted for @RealShinski.He gave us a great song. 'Namwoogopa Mungu Pekee' Let us all vote for him #LondonIsOpen," Kenyatta tweeted.
However, a number of Kenyans On Twitter did not take this well as many sarcastically took a swipe at the President-elect with a pinch of political salt.
They mocked Kenyatta over the voting process and the results which led to his August 8 victory being annulled by the Supreme Court before the repeat October 26 poll which his main rival Raila Odinga boycotted.
Some said they will not vote for Nyashinski after Kenyatta's vote.
Others strongly felt that the President-elect should concentrate on serious matters rather than engage in social media awards
