Royal Media Service (RMS) owned station Citizen TV has settled on Waihiga Mwaura has Hussein Mohammed’s replacement on News Night, a segment that airs every Tuesday.

On Friday, Citizen TV, unleashed a promo announcing that Mwaura would take over the news segment starting November 5th, 2019.

The replacement comes days after Mohammed exited the station after 10 years.

The celebrated Journalist delivered his final prime time bulletin on Tuesday, following his announcement on October 4 that he would be parting ways with the Dennis Pritt placed media house.

His colleagues at Royal Media Services surprised the journalist with cakes and gifts to mark his farewell after 10 years at the multi-media broadcaster.

Before he proceeded with the ceremonial cutting of the cake, Hussein took a moment to thank his colleagues and wife, who he wedded in 2014.

“It has been an amazing journey, 10 years and you the viewers have made it all worth it. You all [colleagues] have made it worth it, including my guests. I appreciate the support and guidance of RMS Chair S.K. Macharia and Vice Chair Gathoni Macharia, the managing director Wachira Waruru, the management, the Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney who was our boss here a while back.

"And, of course, my family. Always. Especially my dear wife who has been my support system all through," Hussein acknowledged.
