Chief Justice David Maraga on Monday revealed that he grew up eating githeri and cabbage, a popular dish in his Nyamira hood, as he shared a meal with the Kawangware slum-based Children’s Garden Home and School.
In a five-minute video he shared on Twitter, CJ Maraga divulged the need to share with the less fortunate in the society in the festive season, adding that the type of life such families live are never chosen.
“So you think we don’t eat this. This is what we grew up eating, yes,” CJ Maraga told an unidentified woman who was holding a baby in the video tweeted to his 189,000 followers.
Hundreds of his followers on Twitter praised praised his bold move to interact with the children, others praising him for his recent efforts of ‘cleaning up’ the Judiciary.
