In a letter to the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, Wanjigi claimed that his life was in danger.
The billionaire urged Boinnet to provide him with security highlighting that strange people have been following him around day and night.
Mr Wanjigi added that a senior State House official personally visited him at home to warn him of a real and imminent threat to his life.
“This is, therefore, to bring to the attention of your good office the above subject matter for your urgent intervention and further necessary action by way of providing our client with adequate police security at his cost before any harm is visited on him,” Wanjigi’s letter was quoted by the Standard.
He mentioned that he was ready to pay for the security personnel allocated to him by the State.
The businessman, who has in the recent past named the sole financier of NASA campaigns, highlighted that the threats to his life could be because of his political inclination.
Police acknowledged that it had received Wanjigi's letter.
"We are aware and have embarked on the probe into the report he made. About his demands for more officers, we know he has asked the Inspector General, which I think is being addressed," he said.
This is not the first time Wanjigi has claimed that his life was in danger. In August, Wanjigi divulged that he was being trailed by 10 unknown men.
