Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Friday night disclosed the names of two powerful politicians behind the Kawangware chaos witnessed for the better part of the day and night.
On Friday, Kawangware area in Nairobi was a no-go zone after a criminal gang started looting shops and home as well as burning businesses.
Reports indicate that a group of 100 dreadlocked men allegedly affiliated to the outlawed Mungiki sect, stormed Kawangware from neighbouring Waithaka, Dagoretti South to repulse the youth causing mayhem.
It is said that the dreadlocked men entered Kawangware retaliating against youth, affiliated to NASA who purportedly burned down businesses on Thursday, October 26 (date of the fresh presidential election).
The Opposition side allegedly caused chaos in the area warning residents against participating in the elections.
Speaking exclusively to Pulse Live Kenya, Mr. Tuju accused NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula of being behind the havoc witnessed in the area.
According to the former Rarieda MP, the two principals, who are from the Luhya community, were rallying locals in Kawangware (an area mostly occupied by the Luhya community) just to prove a point.
Tuju noted that Mudavadi and Wetangula were desperate to show the Alliance that their people were also demonstrating against the presidential election.
"Kawangware is mainly occupied by the Luhya community. I think there is a lot of pressure on Mudavadi and Wetangula that they should show they are also protesting,” he said.
“Do you think that the two leaders are the ones organizing this?”Pulse Live Kenya asked Tuju.
"Yes, I think so,” he answered.
Tuju insisted that NASA leader Raila Odinga was simply polarising the country along tribal lines.
