The festive season is just a round the corner and you're probably wondering what to do with your hair for the holidays or even for the new year. The beauty of our African natural hair is the fact that it's so versatile and we can do so much with it. This week, we show you a variety of both natural and non-natural hairstyles, of course inspired by our gorgeous local celebrities, seeing as they always have the best hairstylists who know the trendiest hairdos in town and so we might as well draw some inspiration from them.

1. Mercy Masika's kinky crochet locs.

Ever dreamt of getting locs, without having to commit to the dreadlocks lifestyle for years? Well then, you can get these Amadiva kinky crochet locs that Gospel artiste, Mercy Masika is rocking so effortlessly.

2. Singer, Mayonde's crochet hair.

We love this bulky crochet hair that gives you the ability to play around with different styling options. For instance, you can let it doesn't like Mayonde, or tie the hair up into a low or top bun or even add hair accessories. This style is definitely for young and vibrant ladies.

3. Anerlisa's chunky cornrows.

We have all seen this style before. While it's a great protective style, unfortunately, it's not one of those styles that you can have on for a month or more. This style lasts for at least three weeks if you take care of it well. It's perfect for when you need to go on a short trip and don't want to have to deal with hair hustles.

4. Jane Ngoiri's short cut.

This style is petty cute. However, it needs a lot of maintenance. You need to have tongs or a flat iron in the house, as it's the kind of hairstyle that you have to style every morning and also frequently visit the hairdresser for maintenance such as trimming the sides. If you're in a position to commit to that, then it's definitely a must try style. We also like the fact that it's age appropriate for adult women and especially looks great on women over 30.

5. Sarah Hassan is giving us Jasmine vibes with this faux updo.

The great thing with faux updos from Marley hair is the fact that you can DIY by simply following all the YouTube tutorials out there, thanks to hair and beauty vloggers.
