It’s not lady like to walk around with dark armpits, although, it’s really not your fault. Dark underarms can be caused by shaving, accumulation of dead skin cells, hyperpigmentation, friction caused by tight clothes as well as smoking. Lucky for us, there are always DIYs out there for almost anything, including brightening dark underarms. Remember, I always say that with DIYs they may work or not; call it trial and error. That being said, for this, what you will need is a quarter cup of rice, a lemon, potato and dry orange peels.

Instructions:

1. Crush the orange peel into pieces and blend them together with the rice, till you get a powdery mixture, which you will pour into a small bowl.

Orange peels are a natural bleaching agent that can lighten dark blotches on the skin and effectively remove them with time. Rice is a good skin whitening agent that makes the skin smooth and fairer naturally.

2. Next, peel and grate the potato.

Potato contains natural bleaching agents that lighten the skin when used regularly over time.

3. Next, cut your lemon into two halves and squeeze out half the lemon juice.

Lemons are rich in vitamin C and citric acid so they can help brighten and lighten your skin.

How to use:

Into a small bowl, put 2 tablespoons of the grated potato, then add 4 tablespoons of the rice and orange peel blend and lastly, add 2 tablespoons of the lemon juice and mix properly. If it’s too dry, you can add a little bit more lemon juice. Now, all you need to do is use the scrub to exfoliate your underarms properly then rinse.

For best results, repeat 2-3 times a week.
