1. Balanced diet

Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grain.

2. Avoid unnecessary use of antibiotics

Antibiotics can change the normal balance of vaginal organisms, allowing excess growth of yeast.

3. Shower with warm water

Generally keep your vaginal area clean. Use mild unscented soap and warm water when you shower.

4. Wear loose underwear

Wear loose-fitting underwear that helps keep your genital area dry. One good choice is cotton underwear. Try sleeping without underwear. Make sure the fabric doesn't retain moisture.

5. Avoid harsh chemicals
